Iran’s President Urges Energy Saving as Economic Strain Grows

(MENAFN) Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has called for greater public cooperation in reducing energy consumption as Iran faces growing economic and resource pressures, according to reports.

Speaking at a nationwide gathering of provincial governors, Pezeshkian said traditional governance approaches are no longer sufficient to address the country’s current challenges and that new methods are urgently needed.

According to reports, he stressed the importance of developing more innovative strategies to deal with ongoing structural problems affecting essential resources.

“It is necessary to adopt new approaches and design creative solutions to overcome problems,” he said.

Pezeshkian warned that without more accurate planning and management of key utilities such as water, electricity, gas, and fuel, the country could face additional difficulties in the future.

He urged citizens to actively participate in efforts to reduce consumption in order to help stabilize conditions and maintain national resilience.

“We must invite the public to cooperate in saving and consumption management so that we can guide the country through the current conditions with dignity and strength,” he said.

According to reports, the president also noted that if earlier policies had been fully effective, many of the current challenges would already have been resolved.
